The popular trend of having a photo booth at weddings isn’t going anywhere just yet. They offer a great way for both the happy couple and the guests to have fun and commemorate the occasion. If you’re thinking of adding a photo booth to your big day, we have some tips to help you choose the right one, with The Photobooth Guys Miami.
Say cheese: Photo booth rental tips
To learn more, we turned to Gabe from photo booth rental company, The Photobooth Guys Miami. "The demand for photo booths at weddings has been growing," he says. "Photo booths offer soon-to-be-wed couples a 3-in-1 solution for photography, entertainment and party favors, and it’s just as much fun for children and seniors as it is for young adults."
There are many different types of photo booths now available for couples to choose from so she shares her top three tips for picking the best one for your nuptial needs.

Get a visual

Many photo booth rental companies don't post pictures of their booths on their websites. Before renting one based only on price, request to see the photo booth in person and test it out before making any commitments, Gabe advises. If you're not able to see the booth in person, then request multiple images, as well as the booth's dimensions.

"Photo booths come in all shapes and sizes. A visual not only allows you to see if the booth matches your wedding's aesthetic, but also lets you see if the booth's size is ideal for your event space," he explains.

Consider your guest list

Before deciding on a photo booth for your event, think about who will be at your wedding. Is your crowd younger or older? Will they know how to operate a photo booth? Will small children be tall enough to be photographed?
Gabe suggests asking your photo booth rental company what the start to finish process will be for guests using the photo booth. "Testing the booth prior to the event before booking is highly recommended so that you can experience it for yourself," she says. "A photo booth is no fun if no one knows how to use it."

Add a personal touch

Many photo booths will let you personalize your photo strips. Ask to see the designs that they currently have available and what changes can be made to them, Gabe advises. "Your guests will most likely hang on to their photo strips for a long time, so make sure that your prints look the way you want your big day to be remembered," he says.
He also suggests finding out if your rental package includes props, and if so, whether they can be coordinated with your event. If not, ask your rental company if they would be willing to buy some. Lastly, if your rental only offers a black curtain, ask if you can provide your own background. "This way your photo booth will look and feel more a part of your wedding. Every bride loves her wedding colors."

Photo Booth Props: Ideas, Tips, and More

Ask any person what the best thing about photo booths is and expect to hear one thing mentioned over and over and over again: photo booth props.
These things can really spice up any photo booth photo and highlight the fact that you are having a lot of fun. You are probably already aware of the fact that when it comes to taking photos, you can either be serious or wacky.
Well, nothing can highlight the fact that you are being wacky more than the use of as many photo props as you desire.

Types Of Photo Booth Props

Photo Booth Props
typical photo booth will have the usual set of fun photo booth props that many people will find useful when they are looking to have their picture taken in the photo booth. What kinds of props are available for photo booths? For many photo booths, wedding photo booth props are quite common. This set often comes with things like a wedding gown, a veil, and a bouquet for the would-be bride; while the would-be groom can use a tuxedo with matching neck tie. You can even hold up accessories like wedding invitations or a couple of toy pigeons.
Wedding Photo Booth Props
Here are a few more examples of common photo booth props:
  • Pirates
  • Parties
  • Cartoon characters
  • Animals
DIY Photo Booth Props
In case you can’t find any of the default photo booth props appealing or suiting to your taste, then you can always try out DIY photo booth props. These are props that you can decide to make on your own, and you are free to design them however you like. Some examples of good DIY photo booth props would be some custom-made masks, colorful wigs and hats, and fake mustaches, which you can put up right in front of your face as you pose for the photo booth camera. Using these kinds of do-it-yourself props means that you can make faces, and dress in character, as weird as you want to look in your photos from the photo booth. You can find DIY photo booth tips and photo booth prop ideas on the Internet.
Fun Photo Booth Props
Another great advantage of photo booth props is that you can combine as many as you like. For instance, you can have a photo booth that has both wedding props as well as beach outfit props. You can go ahead and take a sunny hat and sunglasses, then pair them with a wedding gown to look very fabulous. There are many different ways to have fun with photo booth props, and the only limit is your imagination.

The party was for VFiles, the online fashion hub and store, and as expected, cameras were everywhere. In addition to the half-dozen photographers assigned to cover the Fashion Week affair, guests posed for selfies and snapped pictures of the rapper A$AP Rocky and the artist Mykki Blanco.
But there was only one camera that people lined up for. Tucked into a corner of the Raven club was a photo booth from The Photobooth Guys Miami, like the kind once found in drugstores, where 20-something fashionistas posed with friends.
Similar photo booths have been spotted at benefit galas, store openings and art parties this month including celebrations for Vanity Fair’s International Best Dressed List and Moët & Chandon’s 270th anniversary.
“They are at every party now,” said Billy Farrell, “It started about a year ago, you would see them sometimes. Now it’s standard.” Mr. Farrell said The Photobooth Guys Miami agency would offer its own photo booth in coming months.

That may seem odd, given how cellphone cameras and Instagram have made selfies almost a prerequisite of going out these days. But the new photo booths, which resemble mini studios with professional backdrops and lighting, tap into a different social urge.
Sharing is a big draw. Subjects still walk away with a printout in their hand, but they can also share them instantly on Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms by swiping them through tablet computers linked to the photo booths. Hosts not only get their events promoted through a subject’s social network, but they can also collect e-mail addresses and other useful information.
There is also a nostalgia factor. “It’s like the return of Polaroid, people are now re-obsessed,” said Brian Wallis, the chief curator of the International Center of Photography “You can do this performance and see the image immediately.”

Photo booth rental companies ( The Photobooth Guys Miami ) allow a person to rent a photo booth for a short period of time (usually in hours) for a fee. Photo booth rentals have become popular in the United States primarily for wedding receptions, sweet sixteen parties, Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties, along with a growing number of other public and private events. In addition to the photo booth and the printing of unlimited photo strips, rental companies usually include a photo booth attendant to service the photo booth and to help guests construct the guest book of photo strips. Online image hosting, compact disks containing the images and related merchandise are readily available. Celebrities are vivid users of photo booths in parties.
Animated GIFApart from traditional photo printing, modern photo booths may also include the following new functions:
  • Flip book printing
  • Virtual props, placed intelligently on the person's eyes or shoulders etc.
  • Slow-motion video
  • Green screen background removal
  • Fun costume virtual dressing
  • Games - mostly Kinect body gesture controlled games, and print a photo of the person and his/her scores.
  • Facial gesture recognition.

History

The modern concept of photo booth with (later) a curtain originated with Anatol Josepho (previously Josephewitz), who had arrived in the U.S. from Russia in 1923.[1] with the first photo booth appearing 1925 on Broadway in New York City. For 25 cents, the booth took, developed and printed 8 photos, a process taking roughly ten minutes. In the first six months after the booth was erected, it was used by 280,000 people. The Photomaton Company was created to place booths nationwide. On March 27, 1927, Josepho was paid $1,000,000 and guaranteed future royalties for his invention. The patent for the first automated photography machine was filed in 1888 by William Pope and Edward Poole of Baltimore. It probably was never built. The first known really working photographic machine was a product of the French inventor T. E. Enjalbert (March 1889). It was shown at the World Fair in Paris in 1889. The German born photographer Mathew Steffens from Chicago filed a patent for such a machine in May 1889. These early machines were not reliable enough to be self-sufficient. The first commercially successful automatic photographic apparatus was the "Bosco" from the Inventor Conrad Bernitt of Hamburg (Patented July-16-1890). All these early machines produced ferrotypes. The first photographic automate with negative and positive process was invented by the German Carl Sasse (1896).

There is no question that the biggest “new” advancement in the photo booth industry is social media integration.  As we scramble to seek ways to use social media to our advantage in the industry, I caution that we not forget the real-time environment during a photo booth event.  Before we concern ourselves with how to WORLD will see our prints, let’s not forget the guests that are actually there at the event.   How do we engage the guests with our handy work?  It can be the actual paper prints we output, but it’s also the slideshow!
Depending on the market, some vendors offer slideshows, and other don’t.  Some vendors charge extra for them, others don’t.  I am sure there are several factors why photo booth vendors vary so greatly on this aspect of the business, but for me, I decided even before starting my photo booth build that I wanted a LIVE slideshow and that I was going to include it at every photo booth event at no additional charge.
On www.thephotoboothbros.com and other photo booth websites, this topic has been discussed ad nauseam.   What program do I use, how do I extend my desktop, and more importantly, how do I “auto update” my live slide show automatically.  There are many different ways to tackle this issue, but to do it over wireless and to do it with some form of tablet/personal device (a.k.a. not a full fledged personal computer) , there are very few options.  With the purchase of a couple pieces of relatively inexpensive hardware, you can create a completely expandable, auto updating, live slideshow presentation system at will make your completion “green with envy”.
